Charlie Wolf is President of Wolf Insights, Inc., financial investment consultants.
A security analyst covering the computer, handheld devices, enterprise hardware and digital entertainment industries since 1984, Wolf was previously at Needham and Company, UBS and Credit Suisse First Boston.
In 2005, he was named Best Analyst in the computer hardware category by Bloomberg Magazine and a “Home-Run Hitter” by Institutional Investor. In the Wall Street Journal’s 2005 ranking of the best stock pickers of 2004, he placed second in computer hardware.
Wolf has been elected six times to Institutional Investor’s prestigious “All American Research Team” in the personal computer industry category (1988-93.) His signature publications, Wolf Bytes and Wolf Bits, provide timely analysis of significant industry issues.
Before discovering Wall Street, then-Professor Wolf spent 18 years in the Finance Division of the Columbia Business School, publishing articles on financial economics and decision theory in such journals as The Review of Economics and Statistics, The Quarterly Journal of Economics and Econometrica. He is also co-author of “The Role of Private Placements in Corporate Finance,” published by the Harvard University Press.
Wolf earned his AB, MBA and DBA from Harvard.
